Truck 1 is our snorkle truck. It was purchased used from a private owner in 1989 after retiring from the Burlington VT. Fire Department. Truck 1 is one of two aerial apparatus in York and may respond to any fire incident in the Village Fire District. Truck 1 is a 1970 American La France 900 Series/Aero Chief 80 with a rare open cab/open jump seat configuration and seating for 4. This apparatus carries an assortment of firefighting equipment (Hand Tools, Saws, Ground Ladders, etc.) Truck 1 is staffed with volunteer firefighters who arrive at the station durring a call and its primary responsibilities at an incident include Aerial Operations, Ventilation & Salvage.
