Squad 1 is our Rescue Pumper or "Glorified Engine". It responds on ALL calls for service in the York Village Fire District. Squad 1 is a 1986 Mack MC/Pierce/EJ Murphey. It carries 1000 Gallons of water and pumps at a rate of 1000 Gallons Per Minute and carries 1000 feet of 4" Supply Hose. The refurbished cab has seating for four firefighters. This apparatus carries a large assortment of equipment including Basic EMS equipment (O2, Splints, Defibulater, Jump Kit), a full set of extrication equipment (Hydraulic cutters, spreaders & rams), Thermal Imager, Toxic Gas Meter, Water Rescue suits, Rescue Rope, Hazardous Materials Equipment and regular firefighting equipment (Hand Tools, Saws, Ladders, etc.) Squad 1 is staffed with the full time firefighter on duty as well as volunteer firefighters who arrive at the station durring a call. Squad 1 responds automatic to the Beach Fire District.
