We pride ourselves on giving the town that we love the best service possible, with the best equipment available in today's market. In the troubled days of today, with budget crunches and tightened wallets, achieving this mission is becoming more and more difficult. The annual town Fire Department municipal budget doesn't always allow us to purchase the all equipment that we need to serve our town and residents. Each year the York Fire Department Corporation sends out a fundraising flyer. This fund drive is geared toward funding our every day corporation costs (Bottled Water, Fireman's Field Day and Dinner, Uniforms, Office Supplies, Firefighting Equipment, etc). With today's economy, these costs have gone up over the years, making it difficult for us to purchase equipment that we ultimately wouldn't be able to purchase with the municipal budget.

Because of this, we are in the process of planning some very exiting fundraising events in the near future. These events will be geared toward two major objectives.  One objective is raising money needed to purchase certain equipment that we believe is needed to do our job. The members of the York Village Fire Department have come up with a "wish list" of the items we are raising money for. Please take some time and go to the "Wish List" section of the webpage and look through these items, look at the costs, the functions, the benefits of having them on our trucks.  The second objective is to raise money for our firefighter relief fund, which is there to support York Firefighters who may become in need due to injury or illness.

To make a donation, please send a check to York Fire Department, 1 Firehouse Dr. York, ME 03909.

We ask that you please leave a note with the check saying you would like to donate towards the "wish list" fundraisers.

Scott Eagle X Thermal Imaging Camera - Price: $7,000.00

The new Eagle X is a compact, durable and light weight hand-held thermal imaging camera for fire service, police, security, hazmat and industrial applications.  The Eagle X is compact and easy to use.  We currently have two Scott Eagle X Thermal Imaging Cameras and are real impressed with their performance.  One is located on Squad 2 and the other is located on Engine 4.  At a structure fire, we enter the building with at least three crews, which incude one fire officer and two or three firefighters.  One crew is on the attack hose line, the other crew is a back-up hoseline and the third performs a search of the building for any potential victims.  Our goal is for every crew officer that enters a burning building to be equiped with a Thermal Imaging Camera.  This adds safety and efficiency to our fire officers, firefighters and occupents.

Features:

A streamlined and ergonomic design, the Eagle X weighs just 2.6 pounds.

A large format 3.5 inch diagonal LCD displays highly detailed and clear images to the user. This is an important feature because the more detailed the image, the more visual information the user is provided when sizing up a situation.

The Eagle X features “Image-on-Demand,” an instant-on function that reactivates a camera in standby by simply pressing the trigger finger button. This feature permits the user to conserve battery power, while allowing for immediate image activation.

The camera’s comfortable “V” shaped handle is designed for sure-grip handling of the camera and ease of use with gloved hands.

The Eagle X runs on a rechargeable Ni-MH battery pack for up to two hours of continuous operation. Off the shelf, disposable AA batteries may also be used for up to one hour of continuous operation
