Wednesday, August 18, 2010 Shortly after 10:00 pm, York Beach Fire Dept and York Ambulance were dispatched to Rt. 1 by York's Wild Kingdom for a reported Motor Vehicle Accident with multiple injuries and ejections.  York Village Firefighter Nick Hilton arrived on scene shortly after York PD to find Rt. 1 littered with debris and multiple vehicles all over the road.  With the request of York PD, FF Hilton requested Engine 1 to shut the entire road down.  Four more ambulances and Squad 2 were requested to the scene as well.  One serious patient was transported to Maine Medical Center by Oqunquit Rescue 2, while 3 other patients were transported to York Hospital.  The SMART Truck was later requested to the scene for lighting and rehab while York PD did an accident reconstruction.  Rt. 1 was reopened at 4:00 am.
